Introduction to Binance Coin
BNB was first launched in 2017, Binance coin is a crypto asset issued by Binance Exchange and traded under the symbol BNB. Binance coin has a maximum of 200 million BNB tokens. Currently BNB is the largest crypto asset after bitcoin and ethereum.
BNB was first launched on June 26 to July 3, 2017 on the Ethereum blockchain network. Its initial offering price was 1 ETH for 2,700 BNB or 1 BTC for 20,000 BNB.
The ERC-20 BNB coin was swapped for BEP2 BNB at a 1:1 ratio in April 2019 with the launch of the Binance Chain mainnet, and is now no longer a network on Ethereum.
The developers emphasized that BNB is a means of exchange used for payments, especially on platforms within the Binance scope.
Can You Mine BNB?
You can’t mine BNB like you would with a proof-of-work cryptocurrency, as Binance Blockchain uses a Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) consensus mechanism. Instead, there are validators who earn money by securing the network by validating blocks.
What is BNB Burn?
Before BNB migrated to Binance Chain, Binance conducted coin burns on the Ethereum network using a smart contract burn function. The number of coins that Binance burned was based on the exchange's trading volume over three months. Since the launch of Binance Chain, BNB coin burns are no longer conducted on the Ethereum network and now use a special command on Binance Chain, as opposed to a smart contract.
How to Buy BNB?
You can buy BNB using the inter-account or bank transfer method and can buy BNB with IDR pairs on the digitalexchange.id market.
